Where did you grow up?
Vancouver, WA
What specialties are you currently interested in pursuing one day? And why?
I’ve always been interested in emergency medicine. I love that you get to see a little bit of everything and that no two days are the same. I’ve always been drawn to the fast paced environment and thinking quick on my feet.
Where did you complete your undergrad and/or pre-med requirements?
Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
What drew you to AMWA?
I have heard (prior to covid-19) AMWA has always been super involved within the community and has held fun events with female physicians as speakers and mentors. AMWA also had so many collaborations with other organizations that it was hard to not want to be a part of!
What drew you to Burrell College?
The friendly atmosphere drew me to Burrell. The moment I interviewed here, I felt at home. Students were so welcoming and I loved that there isn’t a very competitive nature at this school.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind at Burrell College AMWA?
I hope to influence and inspire more females within our community to continue pursuing their dreams. I hope to bring back some of the fun activities that were done pre-COVID and allow future classmates to enjoy medical school!

What specialties are you currently interested in pursuing one day? And why?
I am very interested in pediatric medicine. I have always enjoyed working with kids and admire how innately brave they are in the face of hardship and illness.
Where did you complete your undergrad and/or pre-med requirements?
I attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA.
What drew you to AMWA?
Many of my mentors are women D.O. physicians and when shadowing them, I was often shocked by how differently they were treated by patients and colleagues, in comparison to their male counterparts. I was immediately drawn to AMWA for its support and encouragement of the women who are already physicians and those aspiring to become physicians.
What drew you to Burrell College?
When I visited for my interview, I was impressed by how comfortable the environment felt. Everyone was very friendly, with students stopping to ask how my interview day was going or give me hiking recommendations. I attended a close knit school for undergrad and wanted a similar environment for medical school.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind at Burrell College AMWA?
I want to leave AMWA as an organization that is active in both the Burrell Community as well as the greater Las Cruces community. It is important to me that this organization actively works to support the aspiring women physicians on this campus as well as inspire young women and girls in this community to pursue a career in medicine.

What specialties are you currently interested in pursuing one day? And why?
Currently I’m interested in Oncology, however my mind is open to the possibilities of different specialties. Oncology is a field that is relevant in everyone’s life at some point and I like the idea of creating relationships with my patients and their families. Another intriguing aspect is how rapidly the field changes with new research and methods!
Where did you complete your undergrad and/or pre-med requirements?
Hofstra University in New York
What drew you to AMWA?
I enjoy learning about the experiences of women in medicine and also love having the potential mentorship of female physicians. AMWA provides a community that is widespread and supportive.
What drew you to Burrell College?
I felt like Burrell provided a supportive and non-competitive community to foster learning. Everyone at the school and in Las Cruces is incredibly friendly and I knew having positivity around me would help me succeed in Medical School.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind at Burrell College AMWA?
I hope to assist in bringing AMWA back to campus post-COVID and re-developing a strong community within Burrell!

All around TX really but I say College Station! Gig em.
What specialties are you currently interested in pursuing one day? And why?
I have an interest in many specialties which I find to be a good thing! Hopefully rotations will help me narrow it down. My forerunners right now are psych, neuro, and OB-GYN. I have always found neuroscience fascinating and am passionate about mental health and women’s health.
Where did you complete your undergrad and/or pre-med requirements?
I went to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX for my bachelors and masters degrees.
What drew you to AMWA?
I get to be part of an informative and supportive community of female physicians and colleagues. Even during the times of COVID-19, AMWA’s guest speakers and events helped motivate me and get me involved! I am glad I will get to be a part of this organization and serve our community and fellow students.
What drew you to Burrell College?
Many things drew me to Burrell College! I have always had a love for NM as my family took many memorable trips to the area. I aligned with Burrell College’s mission statement to serve the southwest. During the admissions/interview process, there was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere I saw myself being a part of!
What legacy do you hope to leave behind at Burrell College AMWA?
I will do my best to make an impact on our community, ranging from our AMWA chapter to the greater LC area, and hope to engage others to do the same. Being in medical school is an exciting time and I hope to make the most of it!

What specialty(ies) are you currently interested in pursuing one day? And why?
Currently, I am unsure of what specialty I want to pursue. I am hoping to shadow a gynecologist and possibly an emergency room physician this summer, to try to narrow down my interests further. That being said, I am keeping my horizons open, and I am eager to experience rotations third year as well!

Manhattan College in New York City. Go Jaspers!
What drew you to AMWA?
I love what AMWA stands for and how involved they have been on Burrell’s campus in previous years. The opportunity to receive guidance from many different and inspiring female mentors is one I couldn’t pass up.
What drew you to Burrell College?
The weather and constant sunshine for sure.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind at Burrell College AMWA?
I want to continue to uphold AMWA’s goals of empowering female physicians. When I came to Burrell, AMWA was a very active club with a well-known name around campus. I hope we can continue that by partnering with other clubs for events, and being as creative as possible to stay active in the community during Covid-times

Throughout my academic and professional career, I learned the true value of collaboration and mentorship early on from my own mentors in the research and healthcare fields. Additionally, I was drawn to BCOM’s strong dedication to diversity and mission to educate culturally competent and empathetic physicians.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind at Burrell College AMWA?
I hope to continue to uphold AMWA’s goals and help foster a creative, open, and supportive community while raising awareness and participation in issues important to women in medicine and women’s health. Additionally, I hope to contribute to the greater Las Cruces community and inspire young women and girls to chase their dreams.
